READ THE BIBLE THROUGH IN 2007!

Each year we emphasize the reading of God's Word on a daily basis. The year 2007 will be no different. We are thankful for those that have been faithful in reading, and how it has encouraged their lives.

I want to challenge each one of you to not just read the Bible, but read it daily - and to read through the Bible this coming year. We put a daily Bible reading schedule in each Sunday's bulletin. If you follow this, you will have read the entire Bible during the year.

But in 2007, I want each of you to take 3 steps when reading:

READ & PRAY - Ask the Holy Spirit to open your heart to the Word. Read, pray & listen for Him to speak to your heart and mind.
REFLECT - Is there a phrase, word or passage that jumps out to you? What is this scripture saying to you? How is the Word speaking to you spiritually, emotionally, physically, or all three! Take time to let His Word sink into your heart and life! Don't rush through your reading!
RESPOND - What must you do to line up with what hte Word is saying to you? What needs to be added to your life? Removed from the life? Keep a prayer/Bible reading journal each day following your reading on what you've read adn how it speaks to you. Respond to what you read, what God speaks to you, then respond with changes in your life!

If you do this, we as individuals and a church, will see great things happen in 2007! It all starts with our relationship to God. Get into HIS WORD, every day!!
